Introduction
Thank you for visiting the Stadulis Motor Sports (SMS) Products’ web site.
David Stadulis is the founder and owner of SMS Products. He graduated from Rutgers College of Engineering in 1987 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to starting SMS Products he worked for DuPont, Westinghouse and Corning.
Shortly after graduating college he caught the bug for racing in Solo IIs, thanks to his supervisor at DuPont. In 1991, he stepped up to SCCA Solo I while still competing in Solo II. The high point of Solo II racing was a 5th place finish at the 1993 Solo II Nationals in E Prepared. In late 1996 he obtained his SCCA Road Racing License. He’s currently building a H1 1993 Honda Civic Coupe for the East Coast Honda Challenge.
What began in 1999 as an exercise to develop a high performance header for his SCCA GT4 Honda quickly evolved into the company of SMS Products later in that year. Now SMS Products is known for producing a wide range of high quality products that are both track and dyno proven. While Honda and Acura header/exhaust systems are the majority of the products designed and built at SMS Products, the company can design and build race systems for any vehicle.
One Size Does Not Fit All
Most aftermarket headers will bolt up to the stock exhaust. That was one constraint that is not enforced when designing a high performance header. If a customer’s goal is a product that will help extract the most from their build then terminating the header at the same location as stock could prevent achieving the anticipated performance gains. For this reason, different length catalytic converters and B pipes will be required with most SMS Products headers.
Even within a given engine family, i.e. B, D or H series Hondas, a header will most likely be of a different design as the engine size changes. This is due to the different amounts of exhaust that must be expelled and a what rpm range the customer would like to have the most power.
Custom Products
SMS Products can design or assist the racer in designing any of the mechanical systems on a race car. CAD drawings will be generated and parts fabricated at competitive rates.
